hello everyone? how are you? good? how are things? swell? ok, enough about you! i had an absolutely fantastic weekend! ':) as you all know, i went to the all american rejects (AAR) concert on friday! it was just simply amazing! first of all, let me just say, last week was one of the most horrible week i have ever had.. if you're expecting for a detailed explanation, forget it.. it happened and there's nothing i can do about it.. i'll just deal with it in the future.. so for now, i want to forget all about it.. if there is such a thing as yin and yang and the balance of the universe and stuff, i guess my horrible week and the concert were of equal intensity! AAR made my bad week worth it - and more!
anyway, on to the story of my most fab weeked!
as soon as class ended on friday noon, i just changed and went straight to the bus station. i wanted to come as early as i could. even though the concert starts at 7pm, from my past gig-going experience, it's never too early to que up for a concert. went on the 2pm train and i arrived in london in 1 hour and 30min! that's an all time record, i might add.. sigh.. stupid me, i broke my own rules.. waited for 5pm to go.. i was in brixton an hour and a half early but the line was already very long.. obviously, i wasn't the only biggest fan.
there i was, waiting in line alone.. (which btw, i have absolutely no idea what the big deal is about going alone to a concert.. people actually pitied me?! ':s watch out for a future post on this) anway, there i was in the que, listening to AAR while i opened my fasting, when suddenly tyson ritter pops out from a window above! the crowd went crazy as he juggled an orange and a couple of apples. then he threw them to the crowd! that was cool.. after what felt like forever standing on the same spot, the line finally moved at 7pm. some people were buying the merchandises already, but i went past it and headed straight to the hall. luckily there wasn't a lot of people yet so i rushed to the front. i was 3 people behind the stage! i stood my ground and guarded my position. 30 long minutes later, the lights went out, the crowd goes wild! but their screams were wasted.. the show started with a special guest band.. and they were on stage for a very long 45min! and we didn't get just one guest.. oh no.. we got two! both were alien to me.. but their songs were nice..
finally... the last unknown band went off stage.. the crew made their final stage preparation. the lights went out. loud screams filled the huge room. music was heard.. coloured lights slowly luminated the stage.. AAR's show officially started! i can't even describe it in words how amazing it was.. you had to be there to feel the energy they gave out in their performance.. well, here's the next best thing.. i shot a couple of decent videos.. advance apologies for the constant movement.. it's hard not to jump around in a concert, you know.. hehe. so, crank up the volume and enjoy..
dance inside
it ends tonight
move along
the video doesn't do them justice.. you had to be there to know the feeling.. like i said, over and over again, it was simply amazing.. ':) oh yes, sorry for the screwy part of move along.. some jerk, wanted to be carried forward.. you can see him in the video.. ugghh..
photos on the concert coming up.. these were the only nice shots i could get.
should've come earlier.. much earlier..
AAR rocking down the house!
tyson & chris doing what they do best!
the all american rejects giving out their energy
so, that was my weekend.. a truly unforgetable memory.. as of today, i'm a bigger fan of them. i'm still trying to get over the fantastic feeling.. but somehow, i think it'll take me a while to get over.. a very long while.. ':)
